An interesting camo scheme - this aircraft was originally in the standard RLM70/71 splinter camo, but was overpainted with Sandgelb. A nice kit to build, though the snake decals were a bit challenging! Also Airfix missed off the white background where the snake goes over the air intake scoop, so I had to paint that in later.
Worst mistake was that I unmasked the pilot's dive sight window in the cockpit floor before spraying the clear coats, hence the 'frosted glass' appearance.
Wondering whether to add a dust wash. What does the forum collective think?

I think that's a little beauty although it would look nicer if you got rid of that bit of masking tape stuck on the starboard wing! :smiling:

        Love it to bits!
It really SHOULD have a LOT of dust on it, but it seems such a shame to spoil your lovely paintwork

I'm with Neil on the fact to cover up the paint job would be a shame after your hard work Pete. I'm with Dave too, about losing the piece of masking tape in the dive brake flappy. A beautifully finished model, Sir!!!...

Now I really like that Pete. Love that snake. I'm sure it should be rather dusty but if it were mine I leave it as is - it's just too striking.

That's turned out very well indeed Pete, and I can well imagine that snake being a bit slippery....

A very nice finish to an iconic aircraft.

A nice job there, Pete. Masking the canopy wasn't easy for sure but the general outcome is first class.
To dust or not to dust... the paint job you did is really nice, but even if placing that Stuka just outside the painting shop, a little bit of dust, especially on wheels, would be unavoidable in the desert.
