Can be airbrushed or brush painted.... personally I do neither anymore,I found,a short while ago, that by using a dry sponge and lightly dabbing the paint on,I can avoid the paint bleeding under the mask pretty much completely .
Never heard of the sponge technique. I might give it a go.

Give it go, it's not for everyone, however,it works for me.... As long as you don't overload the sponge with paint .

A great result Joe, very clean and tidy build. Canopies get easier the more you do :thumb2:

            Cheers,
            Joe

My dad & grandad made P40s at Curtis Wright during the war. We had quite a selection of cable pulleys for years after to rebuild double hung windows. They would last forever and never made a noise.

Well Joe you have every right to be pleased with that result. Canopies and wing roots are never easy with planes, rather like tracks on tanks!

That's looking alright Joe. As others have said, canopies and wing roots are an aircraft modellers' nemesis.

                        A very nice model, Joe.
For canopies, I use hand cut masking tape when pre-cut masks are not provided in the kit as my hand is not so steady on canopies (the chance of smudging a transparent part makes me very uneasy and nervous while I'm much more confident on belts, straps and so on)
With your next build it should be easier to try to mask the canopy with hand cut masking tape as Tempests have a simpler canopy than P40s.
