    Airfix 1:72 A-4 Skyhawks Father/Son build

My son Nathan and I started building these a bit over a year ago and then had them sit around for a while before we got back into it at the beginning of this year. Nathan is 16 (15 when he started this) and we built them together, allowing me to teach him how I build models. Here's the WIP thread. We have finished now.

He chose to build his as a U.S. Navy A-4B and I built mine as an Argentine A-4P with Falkland Island invasion stripes. We forgot to put nose weight in and so his is a tail sitter and mine is nearly so (I think the bomb is just enough to hold it down). So he's going to be building a small carrier deck base for it where it can be pinned down.

Very nice indeed, it's great that your son is interested in modelling, so few young folk are.
You have both produced excellent models, well done.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

Very nice Ed on two fronts, building with your son is a great thing to do the second is the finish you have both achieved.

          Congratulations to you both .

Excellent, really good you should both build the same model but end up with the two different finishes. Brilliant. :thumb2:

A very fine result (both) with the invaluable plus of a father/son build. :thumb2:

Hi Ed, I have a daughter whose interest is in biotech and writing so dash goes any form of passing my hobby on. Great to see your son taking an interest and giving his dad some stiff competition.

                  Cheers,
                  Wabble
