    Su-27 'Flanker-B'

Flankers don't need special introduction. Aiframe I've decided to build served with 941st GvIAP in the early '90s at Rogachevo AB on Novaya Zemlya (Google Maps). Their task was defense of nuclear test sites and in case Cold war would turn hot, escort of Bears towards targets in the US.

Model - it's a new Trumpeter 1:72 J-11B model. Because of certain differencies between the two I used the following aftermarket parts for converting and detailing.

    Neomega K-36 seat

    Eduard Zoom cockpit set

    Eduard Ladder

    ICM Russian weapons set.

Linden Hill - Flankers on patrol decals

Everything else is scratchbuilt or additionaly detailed by me.

    and on display base

Brilliant painting at this scale (or any scale). It's a 5* build for sure.

That is one great looking build, Seb. I've always thought the Flanker was a fantastic looking aircraft. You've certainly done it justice.

Absolutely beautiful. I can't believe this is 1/72nd, the detail of the finishes look more like they are at 1/48th.

                Fantastic model.
