    Tamiya 1/48 Fairey Swordfish

Good kit, however I was unaware you needed photo etched aftermarket braces....so went old school...not totally accurate, but fun building.

That's a great result Del. Very convincingly photographed.

Excellent job del , the bracing is fine . There is a Tamiya aftermarket PE fret with the flat bracing wires ( rods?) but even that isnt totally accurate as the actual rods are aerofoil section whereas the PE is just flat . Plus Ive heard that they can be a bugger to try and get straight when fitting , so you probably saved yourself a lot of hassle ! cheers tony

            Hi Tony,
I'd heard that to, instructions tell you to fit braces whilst the wings are disconnected from the fuselage....then they all start popping out when you attach the wings.

                  Excellent build and presentation Del.

It looks wonderful. I could really go weak with such old biplanes - if only there wasn't so much rigging. I never really understood how it works properly.

Great looking model there Del. Rockets, bombs, torpedo and flares. It's a wonder it ever got off the deck.
