So, this is my second 'proper' attempt at modelling, my previous was a 1:48 Harrier and I have made countless ones when I was younger. Most were just thrown together quickly as I lacked patience, but now I'm a bit older I can (just) about handle taking my time and doing it properly.
I have always had a thing for the Typhoon as I spent a year working on it when I was with BAE. Its an awesome machine, and awesome looking as well in my opinion!
So, its not perfect, but its the best I've managed so far. I really enjoyed building it, its not a strictly factual weapons loadout, as its mainly air-air but with addition of the Paveways as well. I never set out to be 100% accurate, so long as it looks the part I'm happy. This was also my first attempt at weathering. I used a charcoal stick and just dry brushed it on, as the thought of using paint scared me too much!
. I'm fairly happy with how it turned out really for a first go!
I almost cried last week, as I was taking it out of the cupboard to do some finishing touches and I dropped it! My fiancee thought I had just witnessed someone being killed by the shout that I gave out! Thankfully it just knocked some of the missiles and drop tanks off the pylons, and the seam on the wings cracked. So if you noticed the slightly rough looking seam where the wing meets the fuselage then thats the explanation for it!
Anyway, enough chat, here are the pictures! Any comments or tips welcome! Particularly with regards to the decals, as some I just couldn't seem to get rid of the sheen of the clear bits!
