Oh no not another Airfix Lanc'.. Yes but this one is different ! Avro Lancaster MKVI.

    Hi guys,

Heres yet another Lancaster completed, this Lanc'/version is modelled on ND673. F2 * V, It was originally a BIII then converted to a B VI.

635 Sqd. RAF Dowham Market, late 1944. The model is depicting her when recently changed engines from RR Merlin 25's to RR Merlin 85's,

also having a faired over front turret and a faired over upper turret which has yet not been painted over and no spinners on prop's.

This can be spotted in 'The Modellers Data File' as a side view.

The only added extra's are the resin nacelles which were a real pain to fit the wings and also having to extend the outer nacelles towards the ailerons

Revell paddle blade prop's,Airfix Dambuster Lanc' kit,the yellow stripes are not decals but all hand painted with the aid of masking tape and alot of patience

    in getting them all level

    Enjoy ..............

    thanks for looking.

Quite often I see people saying you get much better results airbrushing, I think you have proved them all wrong with this, it looks really good

Another magic result! Have you built any of the 1/48 versions 'cos I've been looking at them recently? I've been put off by the price but if they're good to build I might be tempted.

A really great clean build, top notch Ian.

A superb variant of one of my favorite birds.

            Hi Gern,

I've built about 7 Tamiya Lanc's i think or it could even be 9 ! some i've sold on :emo10:

They are a really nice models to build a few hard bits like putting the clear parts together neatly and painting them neatly too

the wings on those kits fit into the fuselage without gluing them, the worst part is putting the inner nacelles on the wings

I've brought two lanc' kits off ebay from Hong Kong for a good price of £45 and that included the postage, better than paying £70

in the UK don't you think !. I wouldn't buy the old version because most likely the decals will be no good and theres incorrect

parts in that kit, the new kit has rectified parts.

Heres one Tamiya Lanc' i did a while back

            ian.
