Good to hear Theuns, I don't think they could have made it any worse to be honest. I think Airfix must have got more than their money's worth out of those older moulds.

'twas the very same kit that I first returned to the plastic with. But be warned what for me was meant to be a one off trip down memory lane has turned into a real obsession for me. I also confess (with envy) that your first is so much better than mine. I also regret not still having mine to look back on so keep it safe.
Kind regards

Missed this, obviously need better glasses or a mental enema
Nice looking, tidy, well assembled and painted model, even more so as it's 1/72nd ... and even more so as it's Airfix !!!!!
My last 1/72 airfix spit was such a dissapointment, it ended up in my "crashed" SIG build.Comment

Hi Joe, very nice! I have a few of them to do and also going to get into the weathering, puttying, sanding and painting. All whilst being a careful although fat fingered and thumbed clutz.
Cheers.Comment

Hi remember building that Spit IX when it first appeared (Woolworth 2/-) and my impressions then I still remember :- heavy wings, fragile under-carriage, but very nice thin and clear canopy, and the best part (why don't more manufactures do this ) wheel hubs and tyres separate; makes painting SO much easer. That Spit I still remember fondly much better than the original Arfix Spitfire with bombs ??? Thanks for the memory.Comment
