Hawk T1. The last of the Tigers.

Well its dry. Its Black and its SHINNY!

Hope you like it and feel free to comment. I have broad sholders, I can take it.

I was a bit dissapointed with the result of the "gloss black" from Vallejo. Jo it was shinny, but just didnt have the deep luster of a polished paint job. So the whole thing got flattend down and resprayed with good old Humbrol. You just cant beat their gloss paints for glossyness! Just for good measure it got two coats of Hmbrol gloss varnish.

      Hi Ian,

The hawk looks great mate. Well done. The paintwork looks really sleek. Nice looking aircraft.

      Cheers

Mmmmmm, tasty Tiger. Must resist.... I think it looks really good Ian, .... must resist.... as I said before, I love the look of the Hawk but don't like the Red Arrows connection. I may (no, I may not) have to do an armed 'in service' one .... no you musn't.... Wonder what would make a good looking fighter? (don't tell me, I really don't need to know)

Great build Ian and a superb looking jet.

            Ian,

            That's another cracking build!

PS Graham, I can see you're struggling. Would it help if I told you that Revell had their 1/32 test shot Hawk at Telford and it's a real beauty? Apparently it goes on sale early next year so that should make it easier to resist buying the smaller one now. You can start saving for that one instead!

Thanks Dave!!! No that wouldn't help... damn, a 1:32 Hawk in a frontline scheme.... No, that wouldn't do at all.........

EDIT: I have just read on my 'favourite' British Modellers forum that the new hawk is a "worry" Apparently the seats are wrong, the cockpit is wrong the seams are terrible and it doesn't have that rope that goes bang in the canopy. Oh dear, can't build that one then......

Sorry Ian detracting from your super Hawk build here, I do apologise.

Hi Ian, very nice work their. I like the Humbrol aerosol varnishes, does what it says, matt is matt, satin is satin and gloss is gloss. Cheers Derek

Thanks chaps. I must confess that it is a hansom beast. I could find myself doing a battle ready one in the futre. However thats a long way off yet. Got the 74 squadron to finish yet. Found three more kits that I can use, so looks like I will be trying some of Rodens kits soon.

Humbrol in a spray can! I use it from a bottle and airbrush it on, but yes its good stuff. (mind you the satin and matt has to be thrashed to within an inch of its life or they come up glossy too!!

Nice work Ian, i thought it was an RC model at first (must be the camera angle) until i seen your computer at the back.
