    Tamiya 1/72 P-51D Mustang

Here are some pictures of the Academy 1/72 P-51D North American Mustang I built. It has been finished for a while, i just haven't gotten around to putting up pictures until now. I bought it thinking it was 1/48, and didn't realize my mistake until i got home. I built it and enjoyed it, and I now build almost all 1/72. Sorry about the poor camera quality. All comments, suggestions or criticism are welcome! Thanks.

That's a nice looking Mustang Brian.Last year I bought a 1/72 P47 thinking it was 1/48,so you are not the only one who's made that mistake. In my case the shop were good enough to exchange it for a 1/48 kit.

That looks very nice indeed. What did you use for the dreaded natural metal?

      Cheers

Thank you guys for the kind words! And stona, I used Testors Model Master Aluminum Plate Buffing Metalizer. It isn't my favorite and it isn't cheap but it is all my local hobby shop carries and it gets the job done .

My daughter (No 1) and I just caught a P51 taking off a couple of weeks ago. A brilliant sound. Oh yes of course, nice model as well. It just triggered of a memory or two !
