I'm calling this one done. You can see how it went here.
Firstly,a big thank you to Dave (Gern) who pressed the kit,Hasegawa's 1/32 P-47D,into my sweaty paws.
It's built OOB with the addition of a harness from RB productions. I did,thank heavens,forgo the "invasion stripe" decals in favour of spraying them.
Francis Gabreski is a well known figure and one of the most successful pilots to have flown with the USAAF/USAF. He was an ace in two wars. A quick google will tell you all you need to know. I've modeled his aircraft as it was on the day he was forced to make an emegency landing having struck the ground whilst strafing the airfield at Bassenheim in Germany.He was the commanding officer of the 61st Fighter Squadron of the 56th Fighter Group at the time.
Anyway,here's a quick walkaround. I've included a couple of figures for scale though they are not quite finished. I'll be away for a while so they may be some time waiting
