Swordfish finished

Finished at last a marathon. There is a lot and more in this model.

Got to admit that towards the end lost a bit of enthusiasm. It will be a long time before & try another one this intricate. Famous last words ?

My first try at weathering or making it dirty. I made it dirty but the result is a bit amateurish although the photos exaggerate the effect unfortunately

To those who may try this model & Tamiya did a great job it really is a first class model. Everything fits !.

The rigging. Make sure the wings are really glued solid. Let myself down here. The struts will just ping. Also just glue in one end of the strut & leave the other end free in its slot. The wings have a certain spring & the strut will either ping or bend.

Fix the wings before strutting the rigging. I decided to finish each wing with the struts in place before glueing into the fuselage. Unhappily a mistake.

    Laurie

Fantastic work Laurie. The attention to detail, the rigging and the finishing are all top class work which have made your finished Swordfish into a great model. With all that rigging, you are indeed a brave man. A marathon well run sir.

That is one great Stringbag there Laurie. Excellent weathering.

The rigging looks a real challenge to me and what you have done looks great to me, a challenge you have really risen to.

I am thinking that I might get the Trumpy 32 scale one, but the thought of the rigging does put me off a bit.
