Thanks for all your comments. Pleased to be able to share my efforts. Pleased it is done. Now to the model I bought when I embarked on model making 2.5 years ago a Lysander 1/32.

Andy close up of the crew including before fitting.

Dave W. Rigging. Frustrating. Darn things will ping off in any direction. Soon found it was best to attach a bit of tape. I would make sure the wings are really glued in tight & firmly as you will get a bit of movement. I glued both ends with C/A thin. But soon found it was best to glue the top joint & just let the other end lay in the lower wing slot to take up any wing movement. If you do not I found some of the struts had a bow. Make sure you drill the slots in the wings before assembly. Painted the rigging a medium grey. The say natural steel but that looks a bit jazzy.

Barry I think that the 1/32 will give a better chance with the rigging. The only thing is do they supply the rigging. The rigging is not the original wire rope type. They are flat metal about one inch by half an inch according to the infor from Yeovilton museum. So elastic or fishing wire would look strange especially at 1/32 scale as it is more obvious.

Laurie she's a real beauty all that hard work has paid off and the weathering looks great. You made a real good job of the rigging I didn't envy you when you got to that stage 5*.

Yes laurie , nothing amateurish about this at all , the build ,paint and weathering are fantastic , top work! It looks superb ,especially tooled up to the hilt with the rockets, flares ,torpedo etc , what a truly iconic aircraft , and a lot more successful in its role than its given credit for . 5 stars from me too , cheers tony

Terrific build Laurie. It's so nice to see a model with aircrew in it. Brings it to life and gives it human scale.

I tried to post on this this morning, but my mobil phone was having a hissy fit.

A very good build. A great paint job and a good show of patience. Or is it stubbornness?! lol.

Having seen your build, I am afraid that my one will be moved down the to do list, and first come to the bench once the image of your one have faded from my memory!!!

                      FIVE big fat gold stars.

Laurie - didn't you say recently that you have only been modelling for less than a couple of years? Your Swordfish is outstanding. You have developed amazing skills. Very well done.

Great job Laurie. I really like the way you've finished the collector ring - it certainly looks the part.

Long builds....must be a Swordfish thing, I feel your pain !! But if mine turns out half as good as yours, I'll be very happy, not to mention suprised. That's a lovely build, well played

                            Cheers, Neil

Thanks Mike very nice of you. 3 weeks to moving house day. Not sure where to put all this stuff I have finished. Mounts up without you noticing. But Swordfish I will guard with great care. If only as it will remind me of all the frustration, impatience, patience, & naughty words which eminated from my garage when fixing the horrible life changing binge drink forming wings rigging stuff. If only I had had Prozac.
