    Airfix 1/72 SBD3/5 as French A24B

The old Airfix kit made as the French option given in the kit a A24B of the Groupe de Chasse-Bombardement 1/18 "Vendee" stationed in Southern France 1944

Oh wow! stars. I've never had stars before not even back in the mist of time when I was at school. Thank you for all the kind remarks.

The tooling was all raised panel lines which I sanded off and gently rescribed the major panels. I'm still toying whether very faint panel lines or the quite heavily delineated ones look better, The fit of the bits was quite good except I had to put a 20 thou wedge top and bottom of the fuselage forward of the cockpit to bring the sides out to meet the wing join.

Well, that SBD has come out tops Barry! A bit of a shame as you said about the canopy situation but overall, with all the additional work and extras, your Dauntless is well worth the five stars. Also it is refreshing to see the French markings on one of these.

Good job on an old kit. And I've never seen it in these markings.
