That's a lovely piece of work Rob.

Is it just my eyes or is the spinner drooping a little at the front?

it probably is the resin engine was a nightmare in the end i just wanted it finished i think its the last time i attempt an open engine unless it was molded into the kit in the first place and not an aftermarket part

          cheers

That's lovely - was checking this out earlier. With the figures, have you painted the highlights/lowlights in on the uniforms, or is that just the lighting? Looks great.

Any reason you chose to have a land-based diorama than a aircraft carrier deck? Just curious!

i tried for ages to get a royal navy/raf carrier crew but i couldn't find one so i went with the land based one i really wanted it to be carrier based though i just hope one of you isn't going to tell me there is one after all

                    cheers

That is superb Rob & for a third build ever incredible. Wish my third had turned out half that quality. Ambitious as well with a 1/48.

Heh, no not at all! I suspect that you'd have to do some fairly clever re-purposing of generic ground crew. Did a bit of googling and found some a few images of crew on the HMS Furious and Courageous, both of which flew Seafires... have a look...

Here, too, are some crew on HMS Victorious. Not sure if she ever hosted any seafires... but notice the general lack of anything approaching clothing at all, let along specific uniform! (And all the while handling... er... something that looks pretty explosive anyway... Not entirely sure what they're working on here).

You might have had to spend ages sanding away anything at all clothing-like, and mixing up tubs full of "burnt Pom" flesh tones!

The 47 flew off the HMS Triumph with NAS 800 during the Korean war so shorts and tropical togs would of been the order of the day...

Superb, just terrific! I love the two pilots, one spouting on about tactics and how he got behind a guy and the other, totally uninterested in his companion and more bothered about the Spit.

                            Great build from me.
