Very nice Ian not under or overstated just looks right.

Like the engine bezels and exhausts. Found those not easy to get so they look right and they do.

Lots of rigging to the floats. Like models with rigging they always look the real thing and it enhances yours.

If you get a chance look at the film Yangtze Incident. HMS Amethyst caught up the river and attacked by the Chinese Communists. The Sunderland lands on the Yangtze River, along side, to bring supplies and a doctor for the injured.

The river Stour or Orwell were used for the filming in East Anglia. There are some great sequences of the "bulldog" Sunderland coming onto the water and later taking off. Made very authentic as they used Amethyst in the filming.

Also at Southampton they have a museum of aircraft. One of these is the Sunderland. They let you crawl all over the aircraft including the flight deck.

Love the weathered look. And the exhaust pipes stand out well...

Great job. I like the fact you can see the underside without picking it up.

Excellent work Ian. I particularly like pictures 9 and 10.

Lovely. I too am impressed with the quality of the build and filled with nostalgia. My Airfix Sunderland cost 10s 6d, and didn't get painted! You've made a fantastic job of a pre-decimal kit!

Has anyone pointed out the great rigging job on the floats yet?

Like it, just because it's old doesn't mean it has to be a dog
