Ian M's 1/32 Mk II. from Revell

A nice little kit that went together quite well. By no means a Tamiya Ûber kit, but it looks the part and talking of parts, there are probably just as many parts in a Tamiya 1/32 cockpit than there is in the whole of this kit lol.
Clean moulding. crisp detail and OK plastic. The only oddity was a step in the wing root. Me thinks it was 'sumit' in the way in side. Everything else fitted very well. So error 40.?
Primed with Styrylrez as it was all I had in black. Preshade was white Vallejo Model color. Everything else was Model Air. I have used these once or twice on armour but this is a first on an Aircraft for me. I rather Like them. The build can be found here: https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threa...2.39510/page-4

That's turned out beautifully. A top notch finish.

Out of interest, how do do the gun 'soot' on the wings. AB or pigments, or something else. I've tried it a couple of times but never got it look ok.

          ATB.

            Thanks Andrew.

I do them with Vallejo washes. More often its just the black wash, sometimes I use the brown wash as well.
Start off the front of the wing, by the port and quickly bring the AB back across the wing. Takes a few times to get a useable effect.
Good for the exhausts as well. A oily black/brown mix with a streak of light grey works.

Thanks Tim. A pity that the painted ones were a bit naff, still got it sorted.
