        Thanks guys. I do have an interest in early Israeli armed forces. Ignoring the politics the way the newly formed Jewish state sourced weapons has to be admired. A new country populated by a people for whom the Holocaust was a recent nightmare and surrounded by enemies - and yet they survived.

            I used Vallejo Metal Color Aluminium and Dark Aluminium. Vallejo suggest using its black gloss primer. As this was a painted surface I wanted it less metallic so I used Stynylrez grey primer. I think that Metal Color is probably the best water based metallic paint around. They do a good range.
