    Andy T's Airfix Douglas C-47 Skytrain 1/72 (Geoff's D-day GB)

Another cracking group build and one I was proud to be a small part of, celebrating 80 years since D-Day. Thanks to Geoff for getting this off the ground.

My offering is the Douglas C-47 Skytrain, used to transport many paratroopers into the area. From Airfix in 1/72, it was an enjoyable and problem free build.

Enough waffle, here are some pics

That is a fine looking model Andy, well done.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

I cut corners by not doing much in the way of weathering after paint. I imagined she'd had a good fettle and wipe down in preparation for the big day.

I don’t think it needs much weathering, really — it already looks like a plane with a somewhat worn paint job Only thing is that I would have made the invasion stripes bolder, to look newly painted, myself.

They were running low on paint by the time they got to this one so had to thin it down a lot
