yes indeed thanks any idea whats happend?...I could see the attachment box but no image inside it on #5
On the same page/scan was a picture of the Supermarine Seagull 381 at the same show for which I now have plans for a 60" span E flight version.Comment

Yes #5 shows the picture of the Satellite but no Supermarine Seagull ? built that one myself once for free flight power,a superb flyer until a magnetic tree jumped out of a field and hit it head on..crunch !! a very attractive subject for modelling.
The Meteor in the background by the way mentioned by Duncan is G-AKPK the all red T.7 demonstratot which eventually went to the Royal Netherlands air force.
Keep these interesting types coming and experiment loading the pictures.Comment

Big pic reveals tiny slot on top of fuz. Cooling inlet ? Waiting for Seagull pic, got the Satellite pic first time OK.Comment

***Well spotted Duncan,I have been thinking a lot about this design,at that time there was not a wide variety of engines suitable for pushers, the inline Gipsy Queen was hardly a good choice of powerplant given the cooling requirements for a very closed in arrangement,I suspect that the downfall would have been over-heating a killer with tractor airscrews let alone something with no slipstream wafting across the pots,re-designed today with a suitable lightweight fan she would work, couple this with a suitable modern powerplant with plenty of power in reserve, the aircraft reminds me of something out of a 'Dan Dare' story, now I really am showing my age.

Ive just seen that someone spotted the vent......strange things happen trying to work on this site...
I went back to my first scan done at a very high photo rate but you can also see what may be a vent in the dorsal surface of the fuse above the wing trailing edge....it would also appear to have been two tone, there is also a diamond pattern on the sides of the fuselage mainly below the cabin but reaching back over the wing.
Heres a link to my Seagull research elswhere...if anyones interested In contributing will set up a thread here as well.
mines the Traplet RC version.Comment

I`m sober and the thumbnail wont go big either. Shows the coloured flash paint-job well. The cooling remains a mystery. Any more Kiwi ?Comment

Some time ago Duncan asked if I had any more photos of this aircraft, well try yhtis.
Barry asked re the colour scheme, it was blue overall, with red trim and silver lettering and nose.

I deleted the previous small thumbnail and here is a bigger version of it. notice there is no rego applied in this photo so it must have been taken prior to the hangar shot.

Useful picture Kiwi, must get around to doing some sort of model of this one day.
With a modern small turbojet it would have been successful,I think they realised that there would be cooling problems with the Gipsy engine, not a motor that likes being cowled up and certainly not suited to pusher work.
A machine years ahead of its time and one that the replica builders could have a field day with.Comment
