    Help.........please decal issue...

While decaling my 1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Vb I touched the sky code SN just after applying Microsol with inevitable result a destroyed decal. Dumb thing to do when distracted by some noise outside.

Is there any chance that someone has these codes in their spares box? I would be grateful for any help......

I might have some but I can first dig the box out tomorrow. Just had a look in the decal drawer but they are not in there, so I'll see if they are in the box. Pretty sure I have the kit as a donor some place.

Well I just found the box and the decals are not in it. I think that they might have been sent to someone else. Sorry Barry.

As it happens I am doing that very same kit and haven't got to the decals yet. I was either doing A or C but I can just as easily do the C variant (Sqn Ldr Malan). I know the wing tips are the same and the difference is mainly the canopy and rear view mirror which I haven't done yet.

            Hi Barry

If all else fails i have some 1/48 codes by Extradecal. You're welcome to the whole sheet if you like as I no longer build in this scale. What height are the codes? Sky or Med Sea Grey? With this info I can check the sheets and let you know.

Many thanks to all of you for your offers.

Paul - they are Sky but my concern is that the shade of sky from a set such as that will be different to the kit shade. There is already a slight difference between the codes and sky band/spinner but I can live with that.

Neil - are you sure? I dont want you to have to do a different variant just to help me out? I will pm you my address anyway...

This demonstrates a real value to this forum and what a great bunch is on here.

No problem Barry. I had the same thought Neil's offer would be simpler.

No problem, I hadn't decided which other than not the B so you are welcome to the A set, just let me know which ones you want and I'll get them posted off.

I've noted from your dilemma, do not touch decal when using decalfix/microsol! I've only recently started again so this is valuable insight

                    Hi

Think I might be to late to help, I've been digging in my decal tin and I have found two 1\48th Tamiya Spitfire MK VB sky SN decals kit number 61033. If you would like then please pm me your postal address and I'll pop them in the post tomorrow.

Sorry, I dug in the decal archive and I did find some Spifire Mk V decals, but they were in 1:72!

Also, I have found Tamiya decals to be not that great anyway, so I don't blame you
