    Moving on up......Douglas Dauntless - Academy 1/48

Every aircraft build I have ever done have all been 1/72 so it is about time that I stepped up a scale and tried my hand at 1/48 when I get my Dakotas out of the way. Here's a preview of my first model in this scale - Academy's Douglas Dauntless. I got it a few weeks ago and have been itching to get started, you can see it's already been sprayed with interior green when I had another model on the workbench having the same colour applied.

So, once my two Dakota's are (nearly) done I'll be getting started on this one proper. It's nice!

Also in the 1/48 stash are two Mig 21's, Jaguar GR3, Tornado GR1, Phantom FGR2, Seaking HAR3, Avenger and Japanese torpedo bomber that I can't remember the name of.

Looks to be a nice kit Rick. Look forward to seeing this one, the Dauntless is one of those aircraft that is often forgotten but was so vital and hard working in the early part of the Pacific War.

Good luck Rick. It makes up into a nice model...I did the SDB-3

Be aware mind, fixing the canopies was a real ball ache - if you want the sliding elements open. And enjoy painting the canopy frames.....I didn't!
