At first I thought it was a Hudson but then saw the single rudder. Any ideas?

Is it a JU 252? Shame you can't see the nose.

Could be, it maybe just the angle of the plane but it seemed rather short and fat, that's what threw me. You could be right Dave, a JU-252 Tri-motor.

If I can find it again, although just before and just after this pic there is nothing of this aircraft. Just this clip.

Here we go, it's this clip:

They start getting into the plane (which doesn't seem very big) at 3:07. The only time you see the nose is from underneath around the 3:20 mark

Looks to me like a Savioa Marchetti SM 82 Marsupiale , a bigger brother to the SM 79 Sparviero. It was a Trimotor transport operated by the Italians and as this pic shows a few got used by the Luftwaffe too , cheers tony
