    Classic Airframes ?

More questions, Iv'e just learnt that Classic Airframes are about to release a 1/48 Fairy Gannet, has anyone any experience of thier releases as I have been searching for a gannet in this scale for yonks. Whilst asking questions has anyone ever put a sheet of Tamiya masking sticker sheet through thier printer I keep wondering but have some nasty mental images of the backing sheet coming adrift in the works as it were yuk.

    Cheers Sharow John.

I've built 3 Classic Airframes kits. The Lockheed Hudson,Avro Anson and Boulton Paul Defiant. They are limited run kits. That means the main parts are plastic and the engines and Interior parts are mostly resin and photo etch. And there are no locating pins for fuselage and wing halves. The early releases had vacform canopies and the later ones had injection moulded canopies. These kits are not for the inexperienced or faint of heart.Nice models can be made from them, but they take a lot more work than a normal mass produced kit.Im interested to know where you heard this kit was being re released?.

      Hi Dave,

I saw the kit advertised as a forthcoming release on Hannants website earlier in the week, also looking for a 1/48 Dehavaland Dragon Rapide in 1/48 if anyone knows of one prewar AA colour scheme I know of one in 1/72 but that's a bit small for me.

      Cheers Sharowjohn.

Classic Airframes... I thought they had gone tits up yonks ago... I think Special Hobby over took the tools/rights.

But they did make a 1/48 Gannet. I have one sitting in my stash. Only took me three years to find one!

I think that the Classic Airframe kits you see in Hannants are the last of the stock that they bought up.
