    Hawker Typhoon Help

Can't seem to find the correct color for the landing gear wheel wells. I've seen photos of grey and also green. Anyone know the correct color to use? I use Model Master paints.

    Thanks in advance, Tom

First one I built Tom. The landing gear wells are aluminuim colour.

The shrouds on the sides of the wheels are the same as the colour of the u/s of the wings. In my case mid grey.

What Laurie said Tom. Most Hawker aircraft from the Hurricane onwards (retractable gear) had aluminium landing gear wells.

I'm doing a search myself and the few pics i've found (mainly museum displays from primeportal, cybermodeler) they looks like underwing. Are those repainted then ?

The outer sides of the landing gear leg covers are the same colour as the aeroplane's underside. Is that what you meant Francesco? The wheel wells and inside surfaces were aluminium in colour.

              Hi Joe,

I meant all gray, plus this doesn't look restored. Perhaps it's an effect of the light?

Joe's correct. The photos are difficult to interpret, but look like a re-paint.

                Cheers

Aluminium inside of wheel wells and the inside of the wheel doors plus u/c legs.

                    Mates,

                    I fully trust you.

I was just trying to understand these photos.

                    Thanks,

                    Francesco
