Eduard 1/48 Spitfire Mk V (Early)

    Evening All,

I'm after some experience if I may? I've read that some Eduard Spitfires can be a bit "off" and wondered if anybody has any experience with the above kit?

I've assembled the body to the wing and the panel fit is very poor. I've double checked all my steps and everything is in the right place but there just seem to be large gaps at the lower back part of the wing assembly where it meets the lower body plus a pronounced step at each wing root. Seems odd for a manufacturer such as Eduard but given the different "axis" of the misalignments it would appear to be "off" in 2 directions, if that makes sense, perhaps implying poor sizing of the parts?

Has anybody else built this kit and had similar experiences?

    Many thanks,
    Paul

Not built that one, but I’ve had issues with it the fit of the back of the wing to the body with a variety of manufacturers, including Tamiya. Had an issue with a step at the wing root from more than one manufacturer as well. It just seems that they are areas that are difficult to get right.

I did some research last night (which I perhaps should have done before buying) but seems this particular kit is a re-boxed Special Hobby kit which can be a bit tricky.

Found this useful (if a bit old) starting point for 1/48 Spitfires; https://www.jonbius.com/brief-review-148-spitfire-kits/
