    Advice on weathering needed

    Hi everyone,

My name's Richard and I have literaly stumbled across this site while doing a google! So I joined....as you do. I've had a break from modelling for about 6yrs,and have now come back to it with a bang. Trouble is I cant remember how to weather aircraft. I'm building the Academy 1/32 Hornet and have got quite a lot of refference pics off the web. But if you look at the carrier aircraft they rarely appear in pristine condition. Can anyone help me please as I'm starting to pull my hair out. In the past I've always modeled warships in 1/350 scale, and weathering was'nt a prob. But aircraft!!!!!!! HELP!!!!! :emo10:

Hi and a very warm welcome to the Scale models forum.

I would start by putting weathering into the search box and see what you get as it is probably one of the most frequently visited topics on the site. Start by looking through those threads for some ideas.

Richard posted a link to a superb site only a few days ago and I can't remember which thread it was in now but it referred to weathering and general building of a Tamiya 1/48th Spit and it was a very informative link. I am sure he will put it in this thread again when he reads this.
