    Bf 109 Airfix Question

    Hi everyone,

Not been on, or even picked up a kit for ages due to work commitments, however I've just seen one of these at a very good price & was wondering do any of you knoledgable ladies & gents know if its a newer tool issue or like the Spitfire & Hurricane I've got in the stash & scare me with all the flash amount of filling anticipated?

None of the Airfix 1/24 kits are new tool, except the Typhoon & Mosquito.

Although it's cheap in the Airfix sale, as a returning modeller, I'd stick with one of their 1/48 new tool kits - the 109 E-7 trop is very nice.

Thanks for that Patrick, I suspected that would be the case, I'll probably give it a miss

If you want a decent large scale Bf 109 then both Dragon and Eduard do excellent new tool bf109 kits in 1/32 scale. John might be able to get one in for you or if not try Hannants for the Dragon one, costs a bit more than the Airfix but it is worth every penny a quality kit:

The Dragon/Cyberhobby is the one to go for if you want a 1/32 Bf 109. It's a very good kit, in fact I think it's the best large scale Bf 109 kit (any series) available.

That old Aifix kit can be made into a decent model, but it will need some work

          Cheers

          Steve
