I don't know why my last account was deleted, I did nothing wrong. If we cant post videos of kits showing what's in the box please let me know. These clips are designed for the people who look for used kits and would like to see the content first. Please do not delete my account, this information is useful to many, especially the eBay buyers. I have not broken any forum rules as far as I can see. Drop me a PM and let me know of any problems before banning my email addy for so called infractions.

This is a community of model builders. All you are using it for is to increase the hit rate on your own behalf. We welcome modellers who build and share, if you want to publicise yourself, please do the decent thing and pay the appropriate advertising fee to the forum owner. This forum does not exist for free advertising.

      Hope that answers your question.

OK, I see what you are getting at, but that is not true at all. I am putting these videos up as tools for those who would like the info. Hit rates at YouTube mean nothing and generate nothing unless you have thousands and thousands of followers, which a niche market such as this will never generate. YouTube is a platform for all to use and I use it for modeling and spreading info on old and esoteric kits. This is the only forum I belong to that seems to have a negative attitude on such videos which hurt no one and extends useful info to the modeling community. If I can not post a simple, helpful video, then so be it, but I will say this, I truly feel you need to rethink your views on added content, these videos are about modeling and help those seeking old kits.

I would like to know who or what I am advertising? I am showing a kit made by Smer here, so Smer gets the free credit not me, I may get a 1/2 a penny on 100 views, if you think that's some kind of scheme then you haven't done your research. A 1/2 a penny per 100 viewers is nothing, but I deserve something for my efforts.

These videos will draw viewers to your forum, so I help promote your site. Aeroscale begs for added content and appreciates the effort put forth by those doing so, the same is said for FineScale Modeler and a host of other modeling forums.

This is not my forum so my views are my own as a modeller who builds kits not promote them. All the videos you have posted can be seen by anyone interested enough to look for them. As this is all you post, it is undeniably self promotion and does not fit in with this community.

Actually, it is not all I plan on posting, but it is what I like to do being that I am into photography and have been collecting kits since I was a kid. I am offering free looks into boxes many may not have had a chance to see. The only thing I promote is the kit in each video, no one is required to join my channel to view any of the videos I post. Anything posted on this board can be considered self promotion, so your point is moot, plus I also help promote this forum for nothing.

There is more than one degree of modeling interest and more than one way to be helpful to a forum.

You asked a question, I took time to answer as I saw it. I do not intend to keep going round in circles.

              End of discussion from me.

Product reviews are great, but is that what these clips are? So far I've seen either ones that are already widely covered, such as the Matchbox Sea Vixen or something like this Smer kit which is likely to be built as often as England win the World Cup!

You say that anything posted on here is self promotion... that's absolute poppycock, and actually rather insulting! We post our builds on here to share that experience, the highs & lows. We're taking the time to show our efforts at making scale models, not just opening a box.

Perhaps if you built a model Kevin, your reviews would find a better reception?

And I don't see how your videos promote' this forum. I didn't see any reference to us....

Do you have a blog Kevin? There is a forum section for blog links etc rather than putting them on the general boards.

                  The rules:

Maybe a more appropriate place for the reviews, rather than in the Aircraft General Chat section: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/forums...ct-reviews.91/

I didn't read anything against videos in the rules, but if it's forbidden then I understand and will walk away from this forum. It's what I do, and I will post this stuff on my other forums as I have been doing.

The Sea Venom widley covered? (not Vixen) Not so. These clips are not about what's popular so you missed the point entirely, but thanks for the feedback. These clips help other get a look at old molds, just because you find it useless does not mean it doesn't help someone else. Here's a thought "ignore the clip if it's not helpful". Yes? The videos promote the site by search engines pointing here when one searches for such product., not hard to figure that out. As I stated, I planned on adding a lot of content here, but sadly, I am finding this forum a bit off-putting and the members quite worrisome over nothing.

And yes, all your how to's and look at my build are self promoting, you can be as insulted as you like.

I find this entire conversation poppycock and quite insulting myself.

                      I'll state this once again:

I deleted the other posts after we had complaints, it was discussed with other moderators and the videos didn't serve a purpose, everyone knows what's in a box, and give or take a few resin bits or PE they are all pretty much the same.
