    Aerial wire

What do I use to represent the long aerial wire on 1/48 scale aircraft? Can only find ship rigging in Johns shop.

I would recommend EZ Line.  It is a stretch line that is easy to fix with c.a. glue.

John has something very similar and I would suggest this:

Barry gives good advice here. I've used this line in rigging ships and it works perfectly. Comes in a variety of diameters so you'll be able to find one that suits your need.

I use stretched sprue. Once you have mastered it, it produces excellent effects (and it is free), or alternatively, I use extremely thin copper wire.

I went to my local knitwear store ( with the wife and yes the Ez line is really useful ( I think it was called sock elastic or something. It's very thin and stretches too and as said with a little CA glue sets on post in seconds. I leave overnight or day before I attach the other end.

I first used on my 1/72 Lancaster ( it works  for any scale and paints up nicely. It also gives a wee bit aswell so is more realistic than cotton thread.

            regards
