Hello all a new 1:32 P-51 on the market

Hello all it has been a while since I have touched a model. Having another baby in the house leaves little time for my hobby. I have too many kits on the go from my 1:24 Scale Mossie to my 1:24 scale Ju87. I am addicted to model building. Anyway I was in my local model shop and came across a new 1:32 Tamiya P-51 using the same slide moulding process and the magnets for the engine covers. I almost bought this monster and from some reviews that I have read it is the most accurate kit of this bird in this scale. From the reviews that I read it looks just as good as the spit. On the spit I did not have to use any filler which was absolutly amazing. I didn't buy the kit because my wife was with me, she is my will power and not to mention she would freak out. I will have to get it when she is out getting her hair done. Now I just have to find some time to clear my projects on the bench done.

Mine's on the way from John at the shop. I'm expecting a knock on the door this morning unless the Royal Mail let me down.

        Mine arrived today...thank you John.

Anyone who has had the Spitfire will have a familiar experience when they take a peek into the box. It all looks very nice. There are lots of reviews about already and they all say it is a superb kit. I'll be building mine fairly soon I hope.

        Cheers

Got mine too - it may have to jump to the head of the stash queue!

Well I picked up this new kit last Thursday and I started the engine on Sunday. It is a very nice kit and the fit of the fusealage is perfect. I am very excited to do a bare metal finnish on this one. I am going to do the blondie version. Just the feel of the plastic is silky and the rivet detail is very good. You have to be careful when you are putting the engine together because there are two differnt back ends of the supercharger. Everything so far fits great. From some build reviews they did not use any filler. I have to get my airbrush fired up this weekend and paint the engine. My mosquito and arado and stuka are all slowly coming along. This kit it my priority I want it done by the end of this month. A model show is coming up soon.
