    pannel lines

now i know to bring out pannel lines you can either use pre-shading, washes or both.

I am just wondering how everyone does theirs. what is your preffured method, how you do it and what the results are like.

    thanks.

    Howdy RJ,

Aircraft Panel Lines, A Step-By-Step Guide by Gary Wickham can be found here and it is a great explaination of how he goes about "stressing" the panel lines on aircraft. You can find this guide here: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/tnt1/101-200/tnt122_panellines_Wickham/tnt122.htm It includes comparison photos of a A 4 Skyhawk and step by step photos of an F 20 he built. Below are some sample photos:

Anyway, be sure to check it out, its a handy little guide.

Another online article appears here: http://www.clubhyper.com/reference/postshadingjh_1.htm called "Post shading panel lines" it also includes photos.

There are tons more online, and I wont try to list them here, but you can find them by going to www.google.com and typing in "panel lines on models". There are 47,700,000 results for this topic.

Hope that some of these help,

    have a good day,

    Greg

The u-boat was my first attempt as washes and I was so impressed that I can't wait to try it again.
