thanks for that Barry. i thought it may have been that but wanted to make sure.

so how do i go about "wetting" it. do i put some rinse agent on it and then spray it? or do i have to wash the rinse agent off?

RJ,if you are not getting any problems with separation then leave it out,if you do need to wet out anytime then just spray on the solution and wipe clean with a lint free cloth,this will have effectively broken the surface tension just prior to painting the canopy.

If you ever need to experiment to see how surface tension works,then drop some of the solution into a container full of water,watch how the water is displaced as the tension disperses on the surface,that in a nutshell is how surface tension behaves.
