    old models

having to move my model room gave me an idea. i like most of us have lots of old models, ie, two 8' shelfs of 1/48th f4. plus a lot of others. most built a lot of years ago and not that good. but with these kits now costing £40 -£50 each, is it worth bebuilding them rather than binning them. if so how. how to remove paint & decals. and go about it. are old models worth keeping?

any ideas lads? is it worth it, have you done it?

Purisol and modelstrip will remove paint but if it's been on for years it might be a bit difficult and a lot of hard work, why not use them to practise with your airbrush? or try a bit of weathering

Someone told me Mr Muscle Oven cleaner works a treat stripping paint and does not attack plastic, never tried it but perhaps its worth sampling on a model your not fussed about?
