    Modern Jets

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places. Having watched a couple of prime military programs on jets and the Fleet Air Arm I thought I would look up some modern and post war jets. Jaguar, Tornado, Harrier and so on. Not sure of 1/48 or 1/72 given modern jets are bigger than the old WWII planes. But in either case and whilst there are a reasonable few out there there is not a great choice IMO of British/British-USA models.

Is it just me ? Or am I missing something ?

    Go here...

Listing of all combat warplanes used throughout the Cold War period of 1947 to 1991.

You can sort by era, country campaign etc. From the mid 40s to the early 60s was the golden years for military jet aircraft. True pioneers.

Great link, thanks Warren. It's finding the models which is then the challenge

I lost about 2 and a half hours after reading this thread, I’d never been on Scalemates before!

                        Sea Vixen - Airfix.
Phantom - Hasegawa plus resin cockpit + other resin and brass.
                        Tornado - Revell + resin + brass.
                        Lightning - Airfix +resin + brass.
Lightning T4 - T5 -Sword plus bits from your resin and brass.
That's enough there to keep you going for a few months and all 1/48 scale.
                        Mike

That’ll do for starters. Already got my beady eyes on a Sea Vixen. One of my favs.

                          Thanks Mike

I use Scalemates a lot to keep a database of my stash and AM bits, (also my VERY long wish list). It's also a great place to find reviews.

BTW. I'm AlanG on there too
