Hi all
So last Saturday we visited the Shuttleworth Collection (https://www.shuttleworth.org/). Rather embarrassingly, despite having lived within 45 minutes for 80% of my life, I'd never been....
For those not in the know this is a former private collection, mainly of planes but also includes some vehicles and agricultural equipment, which is now run by a charity. It sits in some nice grounds too. Some of the aircraft are very rare if not unique and a number are actually airworthy, flying from the on-site aerodrome. They have a number of events each year where aircraft fly.
Below are a selection of pictures but there are too many to upload. You can view the full album here if you want to see all of them. Can someone please check the link as I don't always get this sharing thing right.
Wherever possible I took a picture of the description first and then the plane. Unfortunately though we had issues with the card in our digital SLR and so lost about 1/6 of the pictures, meaning you may find cases of a description but no plane, or vice versa.
I even managed to find something for our very own Comrade Race - it's not in 4BO but I think he will like it!!
Finally, you'll see some 'arty' pictures of the grounds as Junior wanted to take some pictures. Some came out really well and so I think he has his mother's eye for these things.
Enjoy and all the best.
Andrew
