Guillows Balsa large scale model of a Mk1 Suoermarine Spitfire

    Hello All,

I posted on the painting thread about if i could use Vallejo modelair on my plane. I never heard back from them after e-mailing but i went ahead and painted it anyway.

Was a battle at first because i used Hannants Xtracrylix as a base coat and then airbrushed modelair on top of that. I think the results are ok and im very happy with it.

It is big beast and im now starting to finish a 1/28 scale B-24D Liberator by guillows which has a wingspan on 48 1/2 inches.

Here are some pics of the Spitfire. All comments are really appreciated

    Thanks

    Reg

That looks fab with a covering on it, i made one years ago but left mine as a skeleton complete with interior detail.

Are you to give her a bit of weathering ?

Have you any pictures of the Liberator at all ? It must be MASSIVE !

    Cheers.

    Ian.

        Nice one Reg.

I have the Guillow's F4U-4 Corsair in the same scale. I've done all the balsa airframe and that's as far as I've got! It's been on top of the wardrobe for a year or so now.....

I'll probably end up putting it on ebay. Pity really 'cos looking at your Spitfire, it would make up into a nice model.
