    Fairey Firely II - models?

Has anyone found a kit of this plane in 1/72? Or has anyone tried a scratch build? I've found some drawings of it at fairey firefly II - RC Groups but can't find any kits via Google.

I'd like to build this for my collection of WW2 fighters. It was used by the Belgians and horribly outclassed, of course, but it's an interesting example of obsolete biplane fighters being pressed into service.

    Cheers

Mobear, the Firefly II was a late 20s biplane - see the link above. I thought the name might catch some people out. Thanks fo replying, though.

Did some looking around but the only Firefly I could find was the Aeroclub one Mobear found and they are shut down at the moment due to "a death in the family"

This is their web adress - http://www.aeroclub-models.com/

My condolences to Peters wife and family.

Yes, really sad news; my condolences to Peter Wright's family and all at Aeroclub, also.

Thanks Mo and Mossie for your tips - they've been really helpful. Sorry Mobear, I couldn't see the icon to thank you - please take it as read.

Frankly, I'm a bit stunned that both of you could find what I'd missed so quickly despite hours of googling. Well done! Anyway, after a bit of googling and hitting ebay it looks like this is one heck of rare kit and I'd be lucky to find one at all. Still, at least I've a lead now. 72nd Aircraft looks like a real find. Cheers.

Just found a thread on the Aeroscale site, AeroScale :: NEWS 1:48 Sopwith Pup. As of November last year it looks like Aeroclub are still doing business but I don't know to what extent, even though their website's closed. Anyway, they have an email address, info@aeroclub-models.com should anyone wish to get in touch with them. I'm just about to send one off and will post back with any results.

Thanks Mo. Yes, I did both. Sent the email yesterday and awaiting reply - still early days yet.

Well, I received a reply from info@aeroclub-models.com. Good news for some in that they're still active but bad news for me in that they have no Firefly IIs and no plans to re-issue it.
