    Earthing a transmitter

    Hi

Has anyone any experiance of earthing a transmitter in the field (putting a spike into the ground & connecting it to the negative terminal of the transmitter) ?

I'm looking for ways of increasing range. Would it be "legal" ?

Ray in a word-NO ! you would be breaking the radio regulatory rules, once more it is not necessary to earth a transmitter in this way.

If you cannot see the model then it becomes dangerous to operate it,the range should be adequate for normal operation.

Those models used for remote camera work had special permission and were designed for that particular type of work.
