    Painting and Reference Pics

Hello, I've started to paint as as I go along on the process of building an 1:72 N1K2-J Shindenkai and I've come to a bit of a dilemma. I tried using Testor's Grey as an undercoat because I wanted to try my hand at weathering as well, but it comes out too glossy for my tastes and too thick as well, making it hard to see the details on the aircraft. I tried it again with wash, after stripping the paint and washing it out with soap and water, now it just looks discolored with showing off the patterns and direction of where the brush was stroking.

What am I doing horribly wrong here?

Also I heard there was color pics of US captured N1K2's. If anyone has seen them, are they under a different color scheme or do they retain their original?

Thanks in advice for any help that is provided.

I'm using Testor's Enamel paints. The Wash I have with me is a "Wave Option System M-Wash"

Hi Raven, I am unfamiliar with this system, but when putting any kind of wash on, you should have a clear coat on your model first. What type of air brush are you using, and at what is your psi set at? Glenn

Raven, the propellant is the major part of your problem your using co2 which is hard to regulate the more you use the colder the can gets the less psi you have. if you can use compresd air it's more stable and the psi wont go up and down with the temp. I hope this helps, Glenn
