    P-40 Kittyhawk Decal help!!

    Hi everyone.

Please can someone help me with my problem i am wanting to model a P-40 Kittyhawk in RAF tropical colours in 1/72nd scale and i need to know if you can get a decal sheet for this particular aircraft. The one i want to do has the fuselage letters as S UE (as in sue the girls name). I do not know the serial number as it is not legible on the photograph. It has the shark teeth on the front lower nose cone and the colours are, Light sand, Dark earth on the top and possibly azure blue underneath.

Please can anyone help to find a decal sheet for this aircraft with this specific sqaudron lettering in 1/72nd scale. If there is one in 1/48th scale then that would be ok.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Kind regards

Hello everyone I am new here so Hi to all. I have a question, I bought a Top Flite 1/7 sport scale model kit and the decals for the wings are the old Chinese republic logo. I would like to purchase the old U.S decals with the white star and the red circle in the center of the star to replace the Chinese decals. The decals on this plane are 6 1/4" from top to bottom. Does anyone know where I can get these?

        Thank You

Hannants do sheets of code and serial numbers and letters in various scales and sizes. Have a look on their website, I expect you will find what you need.

The colours should be mid stone and dark earth over azure blue (or equivalents) but I wouldn't bet my house on them, particularly the blue!

BTW with the SU*E (squadron*aircraft) code and a date you should be able to track down the aircraft and therefore its serial.

If you are thinking of a P-40 that used to be in the air several years ago, maybe more like 15. There was one from the US, I used to live in Livermore California, this plane was based there. Had the SUE on the fusel sides, the front view of a woman, no clothes, on one side of the vert stab and the rear view of the same on the opposite side. I think it went to the UK, and was promptly written off in a crash. Can anyone confirm this one? cheers, Bill

I don't remember a P-40 crash. There was a P-38 involved in a fatal crash at Duxford in the nineties (96?)
