    A couple more P47 Questions

Can anyone tell me if P47D-28-RE coded NV-K KJ278 in RAF service would have had the spoked wheels or the "saucepan lid" ones?

Secondly as they were used to interdict the Japanese in Burma what would a typical load out of armanent/fuel tanks have been for these missions?

    Hi there

I'm no P47 expert but my mate Nigel Julian (Lampie) is. He has a P47 special interest group over on Aeroscale. I'm sure that either he or another of his "jug" afficianados would be able to help you

    Cheers

      Hi again

just checked that SIG. In the forums there is a P47 research centre. Ask away.

I have a bunch of rand McNally books, and the only P-47D I can find with that designation is from the dates ranging from 12/17/1944 to the end of the war. They were used in both The European and Pacific Theaters and they have 8-spoked wheels. As far as their location in burma interdicting Japanese, I would assume that they would be using two drop tanks and either the 100 or 200 lb bombs for a loadout since they would probably be listed as armed recon. Probably best to get answers from some others to confirm that, though, as I can only guess to the loadout.

          Hi Shadowmaster,

Perhaps you might be able to help me. I'm looking all the time for a cockpit detail pic or pics for the P47 1/8 scale that i am building. I cant seem to get any at all. I have every angle and detail shot externally but will need with some urgency soon the cockpit detail and layout ready for building. Do you have any pics or could you ponit me in the right direction please.

          Cheers

          Andy

Hi there, I'm new here, saw the question about the P-47D wheels, and I have some Pictures of My Grand Fathers mount NV-K in action.

I know it's a few of years late, may be of help to someone.

not sure how to share the photo's so I've just added them, here's a link to one of them:
