Prototypes worth modelling-The Douglas DC-3 Dakota.

The grand old Dakota presents a twin engined challenge to the aeromodeller, surprisingly quite a few plans and kits around for this vintage airliner which changed the world of air travel.

RCM & E have plan No.RC1440 by stalwart Pavel Bosak is a good choice for radio control,Pavel reports reasonable descending flight on one engine which is to be expected with a mere two 1.5 cc motors for power.

My own modest model for a control line version built from the APS plan is shown below, she has full interior seating and cockpit detail all hidden from view !

Plenty of colourschemes for this one available from military to civil, the colourscheme on mine is from one owned by the pop group 'Artic Seven' who apparently flew her around the world on a tour.
