    Prototypes worth modelling-The Nieuport Scouts.

If you like the dash of world war 1 flying then there are some super subjects going for grabs as suitable flying model subjects, these designs lend themselves well to model building due to their very construction which closely follows model building practises, two sets of wings means that you must not be timid of cutting out wing ribs but there are ways around that which we can show you to make life easier in that direction.

The Nieuport 17 shown is probably the easier of the Nieuport models, the other the 28 has a rotary engine in a cowling but has an equal amount of character.

Now regarding the essential colourscheme plenty of aces flew the Nieuport with some exotic colour schemes to boot.

Next time that you are looking for something different, why not consider a biplane ? you will not regret the move as they have a lot going for them, including the ability to fly from small fields with plenty of lift for take off,and equally draggy enough to bring into a small strip over trees and obstructions.

They are also very strong especially if working rigging wires are used, you can build the wings light this way and use the rigging exactly as the full size designer intended.

Graeme, sadly Aviette kits went out of business a long time ago, they were a fantastic company who were responsible for some of the finest foam wing cores ever produced, the kits were also not made in very large numbers,I think that your Nieuport was a special for the Ripmax company.

I do not hold much hope of you finding this particular plan but we can live in hope ?
