Hi

This is my latest Model - see the photos

as it progresses and moves along

This is the

HasegawaN1K2-J George

1/48 Japanese WW2 Fighter Model

it uses Eduard Photoetch and Montex Masks for use

instead of the Kit Supplied Decals

The Model uses Vector Resin engine , Fukuya Brass Aftermarket

20mm Barrels and Hollow Pitot tube ( not fitted yet )

The AeroDetail Book on the George Fighter was used to supply extra detail on the cockpit and other parts of the aircraft .

The reason for using the Montex Masks are that I will be able to weather over them , which you can't easily do with a fragile decal .

Another added bonus is that the Kit Supplied Decal for the Recognition

Stripes over the Tail is wrong , it should be White - not Red .

The Book 343 Kokutai -Genda's Blade by Henry Sakaida

also proves this fact - this is the aircraft at the top of the 4 examples

from the after market decal set in my pictures

I will keep this on longer than usual ,

as I am using my spare Photobucket account

The usual one is used for ebay selling

I tried to get the slideshow to emerge -

but this is all it reveals until clicked .............

I will use the old-fashioned display method from now on

The effect I want to end up with is roughly like this

but less weathered , but still showing the paint flaked off

but to a lesser degree ............

TheVector resin Engine is the second that has been used for my models .

It was successfully installed in the Ki-100

that Model Kit was originally fitted with a single piece casting by Hasegawa - the detail enhancement is superlative .

You can find them for sale by Parade Figures Model Shop ( try googling Vector Resin Engine ) - they also make them in 1/72 scale ..........

The difference is plain to see -

I won't drop my flaps , as the wartime aircraft never had them like that in original photos on airfields.........
