Hi,
I've just got back into modelling after a long hiatus. I'm mostly into 1/24-25 cars and 1/72 aircraft. Thanks to the dubious pleasure of evilbay coupled with my own impulse purchases, I now have quite a pile of both subjects to get cracking on. Since this is the aircraft forum I will concentrate on those for now:
Old Airfix F80 Shooting Star (bought off ebay, I actually ended up with two of these)
Old Revell Boeing Stearman
Old Matchbox Boeing P12 (bought because I got this plane and the Stearman confused)
Matchbox Red Arrows Hawk
Matchbox Tornado F3
Italeri T45 Goshawk
Airfix 2008 Red Arrows Hawk
Airfix BAe Hawk 120 Demonstrator.
As you can see, there is a bit of a Hawk thing going on, this wasn't entirely intentional but it is a plane I love, and seeing as how I have four I might do a bit of a compare and contrast between them and post it up here. Most interesting will be between the two Airfix Hawks, as there is a significant parts and price difference between the two (the one 120D is £7.99, the Red Arrows one £5.99).
I have decided to stick to 1/72 for now as the models are cheap enough to not worry about impulse purchases, there is a wide variety of subject matter, and the models are not so complex as to test my burgeoning skills.
Regards,
Adrian
