    Returning modeller seeks Ju-52 recommendation

    Hi,

I've just got back into modelling after a break of about 30-ish years after taking part in a nostalgic model building competition at work. My 1/72 Airfix Wellington was a bit ragged in places (nothing seemed to fit together properly), but somehow came out top.

Flushed with this success, I fancy a go at a Ju-52 in 1/72 or 1/48 and wondered what kits were available and which if any were recommended by this group.

    Cheers

Revell do a couple of 1/48 versions, no idea what they are like. Italeri do (or did) a 1/72 one which a friend thought was good though I've never built it myself.

The Revel 1/72 JU52 is gorgeous. I bought one on clearance last year for $11.00! The interior is just awesome! I have not the space right now to build it though! HTH, Jeff

Hello Howard my name is Harold and I have build a few quarter scale Ju 52's. Revell-Monogram Ju 52/3m g4e is the only 48th scale on the market outside the Revell of Germany' airliner version. The airliner version markings are the 1936 Olympics and the red 1935 German Air Minisrty, these are the same kit, just the decals and instructions are differnet. The other kit is the wartime transport and that one is a JU 52/3mg4e. The inside of the model has great detail work to it. I highly recommned both kits if you want to build them. There is very little fit problems with kits.
