    Airfix 1/24 Mosquito?

Although I've only built a couple of 1/35 tanks so far, I'm interested in the new Airfix kit, having always had a soft spot for the mossie. At 55cms long & with a wingspan of 69cms, it's quite a monster! So is the price tag - anyone got £130 going spare?! Patrick

I saw this beastie at the Telford show. They'd got one built but not painted and they'd laid out all the sprues. That took a LOT of space! Aren't there well over 600 pieces?

It's really impressive and went straight to my wish list. Like you, I've only got one problem. The small matter of finding the money!

Some piccies for your interest here. Hey Gern, what did you think of the IMPS Telford? I was like a kid in a sweet shop all day there. The wife was rolling her eyes all day as I flitted from one stall to another, making "oow oow" noises as the eye candy dripped into view... well I won't tell you how much I spent, only to say that I'ts all wrapped for xmas... booo!

I went to Telford on both the Saturday and Sunday. I couldn't stay away on the Sunday 'cos I was scared I'd missed something in the few (6!) hours I'd spent there on Saturday.

'Kid in a sweet shop' has got nothin' on what I felt like! I was blown away by some of the models on display. I spent a fortune and had to leave the four most expensive models off my wanted list 'cos I ran out of money. I could have gone to the cashpoint, but SWMBO would have killed me the same day she saw the statement if I had!

I have to admit I'm surprised that there aren't loads of photos on the forum. I would have done some but I don't own a camera. I'm gonna borrow one for next year!

Heh, I know what you mean about the spending issue. Er indoors hasn't seen the statement yet, and I've been buying books and paints for the kits I've gone for! lol.

I can post a load of pics for all to see on a separate thread. Yeah, it was an awesome day and wished I had gone on the Saturday though I believe it was even more busier that day and I was cheeky enough to ask for discounts as I bought in bulk from one particular stall.

Hi Guys, Merry Xmas! Anyone else get the 1:24 Mossie or do I just have an extremely understanding wife? And how many parts? Have to say though, the quality looks great and the instructions seem quite comprehensive at first glance. Now just need to find the time to get cracking on it! Will keep you posted when I get started!
