    Ran into some problems

Well, I am not real happy with the Revell P-38 kit. It is a beautiful aircraft, but the pieces do not fit well together. Aside from that, I do not even have the nose wheel support strut. I looked on all the trees and didn't even find the number that goes with the part. I've cleaned up the work station and will attempt to get more done tomorrow. My attitude right now is not the kind of attitude I want when it comes to working on scale models. I might try a Tamiya kit next time. Any advice? What are your favorite brands?

It must be frustrating to get a kit that does not go together well but I suppose that this is relevant to your own experience. My P51 I have thought is not an easy kit as getting parts to line up without locating pins or tags is quite tricky for me. For some it would have been a breeze. To have parts missing however, that has to be a downer although you could contact the makers for a replacement part but you should not have to.

I would persevere as even though it causes problems, it will be very satisfying to have beaten it into submission. Maybe this is one to do in stages between other projects so you don't get bogged down with the problems. As far as what maker is best? I don't know. Tamiya usually get a good press but then again, I have seen some amazing Revell builds as well. I have read posts where Dragon are said to be fit for the spares box only and others swear by them. Like all things, there are good and bad everywhere.

Stick with it though and post some progress reports, someone may have tips and advice that may just have slipped your mind which will help you get past the problems.

We have all been there! I'd put the damned thing down for a while and come back to it fresh. Are you doing the 1/32 one? I know someone who really had a wrestle with that one.I can't help you with the part as I've never built the kit.

      Best of luck
