Moving house, moving kits and stash!

Hi all

I am moving house next week, a big pain in the arse and no mistake, but not going far and new house will have ana extra bedroom and a garage!!!

Anyway, here are some pics of ALL of my built kits (minus the odd straggler) and the stash, which at the moment is down to only four planes, plus 3 in progress.

I thought iI would illustrate how I move the planes using wooden coctail sticks available cheapo in supermarkts etc, stick them up in the boxes to stop the kits sliding about... well I'm sure you can see how it works from the pics. Stick them in the car, do handbrake turns at will, kits ok!!!

Has anyone else got any tips or peculier methods of moving these fragile things we build around? I got[ATTACH]12707.vB[/ATTACH] this method off someone at Yeovilton who did it this way when shuttling them around model shows. Hope he didn't patent it!

That all looks a bit fragile to me! I really hope your move goes OK though 'cos it would be a real shame to damage those beautiful 'planes!

very novel way of solving a problem. Storage is soon to become a big issue for me, I have no space to store these kits I am building so I am not sure what the future is for mine lol.

Good luck with the move Saul, that's quite a stash you got there. Might adopt this idea for my current project, as it has to be packed away in between sessions. Two year old can now reach door handles!

hi saul, good luck with the move.The kits look pretty secure , although getting them out of the boxes is going to be a bit like a 2d version of kerplunk!!Are you hiring a low loader to take the an22 fuselage?!! Theres some fantastic looking models there ,you ought to get a gallery started once youve settled in, im particularly eager to see the tb3 and m50 in all their glory, cheers tony

Packing looks good to me, the only thing i would do now is loosly cover the models with kitchen roll to about an inch thick then tape over. i have used this method in the past and it has worked for me every time.

Tony, I will try and get a gellery up asap. The tb-3 is a good one alright, massive wing. I'm thinking of building some polikarpovs and making it into a zveno parasite fighter thingy... Also on the hunt for a reasonably priced M-4 Bison 1/144 to go with the M-50. Dreaming on as ever!

Hi saul , Bring on the zveno!! These things made the german mistel combinations look positively normal, and they were actually used operationally too!!! Those crazy russians! dont you just love em!? cheers tony

Saul! Not sure if you're still watching your thread but Asda Hereford have just two bottles of original mix klear left. I know cos I bought the rest today. Should last a lifetime but had to leave some for fellow modellers!

does look a little too fragile to me! suggest you can try using bubble wrap and styrofoam
